In November 2012, Dr. Mettina Veenstra joined The Patching Zone’s Board of Supervisors. Before joining the board, she was a member of the ambassadors network of The Patching Zone.

Mettina graduated in Language Technology and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen, where she also studied Scandinavian Language and Literature during the same period. In 1998, she completed her PhD in Computational Linguistics at the University of Groningen.

Currently, Mettina is the principal advisor at Novay in Enschede. Apart from that, she leads the special readership of Interactive Public Spaces at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam. In both committees, she researches in which way information technology might contribute to more interesting and pleasant public spaces.
